Great Crested Flycatcher |
Was able to rescue my last day of the Memorial Weekend. If it is true that it was not a spectacular day at the Viera Wetlands, it was not bad at all. The Great Crested Flycatcher gets the opening since it is a subject I see on rare occasions. Good or bad is my best pic ever of the little bird.

My elbow is still giving me a hard time so did not want to push it kayaking. Did not want to stay at home neither so it was an easy call to go to Viera. Had a very nice day. Let us see the pics...

An aerial drama was happening high in the sky. A Red Shouldered Hawk caught a snake and a Red Winged Blackbird took exception.

Once in the van decided to drive to Moccasin Island Tract through the 3.5 miles road. Had to stop to allow a Yellow Rat Snake cross the road. Then, almost at the parking area for the tract, a pair of Swallow Tailed Kits performed some acrobatic show for me. At the tract a Yellow Meadowlark cooperated for a few pics...
