Orlando Wetlands Park - NKP

Snail Kite - Juvenile

The weather forecast was not good today and, quite frankly, did not want to kayak with that kind of concerns in mind. It is not fun. But wanted to go out and usually my spot to do that is Orlando Wetlands Park, 20 minutes from home. Add to that the reports of a Snail Kite being spotted there and it was a no brainer. Mission accomplished!!!!!

Juvenile Snail Kite

I will share with you the pics and that is it. No boring details other that the Snail Kite is a juvenile one and can be spotted at the same location where the Vermilion Flycatcher was located in the Winter. I did not walk around today. Just went for the Kite, in and out. That being said, here are the pics of what I saw in the process...

Roseate Spoonbill. Had to stop and take a pic because, well, it was right there.

Juvenile Little Blue Heron

Snowy Egret

Gator

And here it is, What I came to see...a Snail Kite. This one is a juvenile.
