Lower Wekiva River - From Katie's Landings

Red Shouldered Hawk

Finally!!!! Back to the water. I had a paddling withdrawal issue all these days but made it back to it. A co-worker asked me several weeks ago about Katie's Landings so we agree to meet there today to paddle the Lower Wekiva River.

Put In / Take Out: Katie's Landings. Please refer to previous posts for information about this location, one of the easiest put in all Central Florida.

Little Blue Heron

Not too much am going to say about this one. Only paddled for two and a half hours. It became overcast and windy and I decided to turn around not too far from Katie's Landings. One thing am going to comment. Someone has decided to open some other ways down river. He has made some incredible progress. It will be very interesting when all is done. I did paddle a small section of what he is done and it is stunning. THANKS whoever you are. Looking forward to go back soon. Without more delays here are the pics of the few things we saw today at the Lower Wekiva River.

  1. Hopefully whoever the aquatic engineer is, he doesn't make wide enough for a) power boats, b) airboats, or c) tubers!
