Non Kayaking Post, NKP, so no comments...only pics. Just let me tell you that the wetlands were closed to vehicular access. Not that it mattered for me as I always walk but if you prefer to drive around, that might be a problem.

Upper Wekiva River

Upper Wekiva River Gator

Did paddle the upper section of the Wekiva River, something I do not do enough. This section of the river is beautiful and as wild as it gets. It also has an intangible attractive; during the weekends you will not find the crazy crowds you will find if you kayak the Wekiva River from Wekiwa Springs State Park.

Black Crowned Night Heron

Put In / Take Out: Whenever I kayak this upper section of the Wekiva River use Wilson's Landings in Sanford. It is not far from Katie's Landings, maybe one mile or mile and a half upriver. It is free but it is not the easiest location for putting in and taking out your kayak. Be prepare to drag it.

Did paddle to Wilson's Landings to the confluence with the Little Wekiva River, Explored the Little Wekiva for 30 minutes and turned around. Took my time going upriver, 3 hours, but only 1 hour and change coming down. Did not stop too much for pics. Here are the pics of what I saw during this paddle...
