Wood Storks at Mullet Head Island |
Finally made it back to the water...sort of. Had to cut it short because weather concerns. I believe saw Master Dave from Dave's Yak Tales, on his way to Haulover Canal. He will let me know if I made the right decision. But it was nice to be back in the kayak.
Kayaker is visited by a curious manatee. The person did not touch or harassed the manatee. |
Put In / Take Out: Please check earlier posts from this location. I always use the same facility at the end of the dirt road North and West of the draw bridge.

OK. Here we go. Did my usual around Mullet Head Island paddle and then back to the canal area. It was breeze and cloudy so the pics are not my best work. Had to crank up the ISO to get clear pics. Here are the Views from the first leg of the paddle. Let us go around Mullet Head Island...

It was really breeze when I finished my tour around the island. Dark clouds were seeing to the West and a big one in the East. Made a bee line to the alternate canal on my way to an dolphin-less Dolphin Cove. So kept paddling to Bairs Cove...

It rained hard for a minute, stopped, and then started again for two or three more minutes. It was really ugly to the West so decided it was time to go back home. Got a break and was able to get a few more pics on my way to the Take Out...

You did see me. I recall seeing several cars with kayaks on the road out as I headed in. Do not recall your yellow kayak. Arrived 12:45 or so. It looked like it had rained. Hard. I saw one wood stork flying away from Mullet Head. Looking forward to the rest of your photos.
ReplyDeleteWow, awesome post and wonderful birds. I enjoyed seeing the manatees near the Haulover Canal. Wonderful photos.
