Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge (NKP)

Dolphin Cove drama

My principessa got her wisdom teeth taken out this morning so kayaking was out of the equation. Had to be there for her. After noon she was resting and doing OK so I decided to go to Merritt Island, practice my photography a bit, and explore other areas. So glad I did so. The opening is not from the kayak, which stayed at home today. Still like it a lot!!!!!!!

Since this is a NKP, or Non Kayaking Post, will keep the comments to the minimum and go straight to the pics. Let us start with the first stop of the trip. While the plan was for a quick stop at Haulover Canal, then to the Bio Lab Rd, and the finish at Black Point Wildlife Dr, only the first two parts of it came to a close. A dolphin was hunting at Dolphin Cove and I tried to get rid of the bad taste of two weeks ago when I messed up a golden chance for a nice pic (Haulover Canal Dec 8). Here are the pics of this first stop...

From Haulover Canal drove to Bio Lab Rd. It was my first time there so had no idea what to expect. The plan was to go to Black Point Wildlife Dr after that but Bio Lab Rd is long, and it was so nice that I took my time there. That being said, it was the last stop of the trip...

    1. Thanks Joanne. The only problem with the Kingfisher is that she was so far. The dolphin pic is special for me because did work really hard for it.
