Merritt Island (NKP)

Black Necked Stilt

Last Saturday the plan was to kayak Snake Creek from Blue Spring State Park in Orange City. But my laziness got the best of me and made it to the park at 8:30. Was not willing to wait one hour in the line that was all the way back to the end of the French Avenue. So drove to Merritt Island, where visited Black Point Wildlife Drive and the Biolab Rd. Did not even think kayaking in Haulover Canal as it was really hot by 9:15 AM. Live to kayak another day was the thought. Here are the pics from this non kayaking post (NKP), that by the way, are not like to call home about...

And this is it for this one. There were not too many pic chances on this trip. But hopefully there will be more on our next trip and when that happens we will be back to share with you the Views From Our Kayak.

  1. If that black necked stilt was the only one you saw, I may have seen it too. Left side of Wildlife Drive, before the Wildbirds Trail. You are the second person I know who saw the line at Blue Spring and changed plans. That person went to Lake Wodruff NWR. This person went to Haulover in the afternoon. And Biolab. And Blackoint. Great minds........
